More about the Great British Insulation Scheme

The Great British Insulation Scheme is a new government energy efficiency scheme (formerly known as ECO+). It is designed to help deliver insulation improvements to the least energy-efficient homes in Great Britain in order to tackle fuel poverty and help reduce energy bills. The scheme will provide a grant towards the cost of the works, however it is intended to only cover part of the overall cost only. The value of the grant will depend on the specifics of your property including type, size and current energy efficiency.

Details of the scheme:

  • Available to those living in homes with an Energy Performance Certificate rating of D-G and within Council Tax bands A-D in England regardless of their income or financial situation.
  • Additional support may be available for low-income and vulnerable households through other complimentary schemes.
  • It will work by placing an obligation on medium and large energy companies to deliver measures that result in reduced energy usage.
  • Your chosen installer must be Trustmark Approved and certified to install to the PAS 2035 standard.
  • All work to be pre-approved and verified by a qualified Retrofit Coordinator.

To give customers ample time to choose their installer, the scheme is intended to run from now until March 2026.
